6th Annual Cajun Canyons Billfish
Classic
Officially
Cancelled
Well, it is
official, due to the British
Petroleum Deepwater Horizon
explosion and the closure of 75,920
square miles of fishing grounds in
the Gulf of Mexico by the
National Marine Fisheries Service,
we have been forced to cancel our
6th annual tournament. As stated in
our previous newsletters, we will be
offering 100% refunds for any/all
pre-paid early registrants.
I want to personally
thank all of our sponsors,
participants, and friends that have
helped us through the past 6 years
create, produce, and enjoy the Cajun
Canyons Billfish Classic. Our
website name alone,
comefishLa.com, should be
indicative of our passion for both
Louisiana and the hallowed fishing
grounds off our precious coastline.
From here, we ask
that all of you remember the
families and friends that have lost
loved ones during the Deepwater
Horizon explosion. In closing, we
hope to be back stronger than ever,
we just do not know when that will
be.
On a final note,
today happens to be my 55th
birthday; this is NOT what I
envisioned as a birthday party!
Regards,
Steve Thomas
