Time to put Venice back on the map - In a Good Way !
Joe Yee, Master Lure Maker from Hawaii returns to Venice, Louisiana

Yes indeed; it’s time to put Venice, Louisiana back on the map, in a good way, as the sport fishing capital of the Gulf of Mexico! The fishing has really turned on with the influx of warm weather and warm water. The tuna are biting and so are the stick fish.

In conjunction with Jimmy and Gail Gele of Professional Sports Shop, Mr. Joe Yee, the Master Lure Maker from Hawaii, is returning to the 2011 Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic. Mr. Joe’s world-famous Super Plunger lure has accounted for more Blue Marlin over 1,000 lbs. than any other lure in the world. Come meet the master himself as he returns to Venice, Louisiana. This will be Mr. Joe’s second visit gracing our tournament.

Also, we are excited to be introducing our new tournament artist, Rick Bogert. Rick will also be in attendance showcasing his fine art work. Check out “Cajun Memories”.

This year marks our 5th year as a qualifying event for the I.G.F.A. Offshore World Championship with our Top Boat (Based on total Billfish Points) receiving an invitation to fish against teams from around the world in this classic event.

Our 2011 Entry Forms are available online and now is the time to get your entry in prior to April 1 and be eligible to win a free entry fee. Also, please remember that slip reservations can only be made with a paid entry form. If you have fished our tournament in the past, you know about the good times in Venice; if you have not fished our tournament, come join the party in Venice!
