LET’S GO FISHING!
NO CIRCLE HOOKS REQUIRED!
Here we are—tournament time. First and foremost, NMFS has suspended the CIRCLE HOOK
ruling until January, 2008. Simply speaking: You are not required to use circle
hooks in live or dead bait right now; period. Now, please remember to renew your Atlantic
Highly Migratory Species Permit at https//hmspermits.noaa.gov.
It is time for our 3rd annual Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic. Presented by our friends
at Gulf Coast Hatteras and Hatteras
Yachts, It’s not too late, come play with the BIG BOYS—Junkyard Dog, Mariposa,
Pass-It-On, Reel Addiction, Outlaw, Lady O, Patriot, Done Deal, Tenacious, Big Adventure,
Share-E, TIA II, Stalker, Teresa III, Cajun Dame, First Choice, Team Hatteras 54C,
and the list goes on.
Yes, it has been blowing, but it can’t blow forever and we are hoping it settles down
around the Full Moon.
We would like to welcome new Platinum Level sponsor, Pacific
Fins Resort & Marina in Guatemala and Gold Level sponsor, Night
Vision Technologies—two fine examples of keeping up with our sponsor motto: Only
the Best of the Best. Both of these fine companies will be on-site with Night Vision
Technologies doing dockside demonstrations Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Our Charity Auction, to benefit both CCA of Louisiana and The Billfish Foundation
has some wonderful marine and “other” art, trips to exotic locations, Saints tickets,
along with loads of tackle and other good items. Please support our worthwhile charities
with a generous bid; remember, it is tax-deductible.
Tournament Headquarters telephones are installed and working, a vast improvement over
last year:
985-534-7481 and 985-534-7482
Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend; see you in Venice!
Regards and tight lines,
Steve Thomas
